Man held for raping a college student for five years.
NEW DELHI: A man was arrested in Timarpur in north Delhi for allegedly raping a college student after promising to marry her.
The accused, identified as Vijay Kumar Saini, was held following a complaint by the victim that he had raped from the past five years ago, when she was in class 10.
According to the victim's complaint, Saini used to follow her around on a bike and one day he forcibly caught hold of her and took her to a friend's house.
"She alleged that he threatened her and raped her.
Till a few days back, he allegedly told her that he would marry her but on March 11 she found out that he had gotten married to someone else.
When she intimated the police, we arrested Saini. On interrogation, we came to know that he is a history sheeter," said a cop.
