Woman's body found wrapped in black bag

New Delhi: The unidentified body of a woman in her early twenties was found in a bag near the New Delhi Railway Station early on Friday morning. According to police, the injury marks on the victim's body clearly indicate that she was murdered.
Additional DCP (Railways) Bhairon Singh Gurjar said, "The body was found in a black bag in the circulating area outside the railway station around 6.30 am."
Police said the victim's body had a deep cut on the left side of the neck and the right hand -- indicating that she had put up a struggle.
"She may have suffered an injury on her right hand during the struggle," a senior police officer said, adding that the victim's hands were tied.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the bag was dumped by two persons -- a man and a woman -- who had arrived at the station in an autorickshaw.
Gurjar said, "The victim was wearing a black sweater and black printed trousers. She had a peacock tattooed on the right side of her abdomen."
The body was taken to the Sabzi Mandi mortuary, where it will be preserved for 72 hours for identification. "We will conduct the post-mortem examination only after 72 hours," said Gurjar.
"The process of identification is still on. The girl was murdered somewhere else, and her body was abandoned here. We are also examining CCTV footage to get some clues," he said. A case of murder has been registered with the Railway Police.
