Gang leader held by Delhi Police

New Delhi, Feb 19 (PTI) The Delhi Police today claimed to have arrested the leader of a gang which usually targeted residences of government officials to commit burglary and later set them on fire.

With the arrest of Sanjeev, South District Police said it has solved the sensational case of burglary at the residence of an official at Laxmi Bai Nagar on February six.

After the burglary, the members set the house on fire and police found that all house hold items were burnt.

"Today, at about 6 am at Ganda Nala picket, the police chased two boys and apprehended one of them," H G S Dhaliwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South, said.

The accused had earlier been arrested several times in various cases of burglary and theft and has also escaped many times from an observation home where he was lodged, he said.
