Spanish woman alleges rape during reiki session

A Spanish woman, who fell unconscious after being offered a drink by a man, suspects that she was raped in Pushkar town of Ajmer district, following which an FIR has been registered, the police said on Monday.

The 32-year-old woman has alleged that Bhanwar Lal, 52, offered her a drink during a session of reiki on Sunday evening.

After consuming the drink, she fell unconscious and does not remember what happened after that.

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.

On her request, a medical test has been conducted and the report is awaited, said the police, adding that the FIR has been lodged under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 376 (punishment for rape) and 511 (punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment) of the IPC.

The woman is staying in Pushkar since April 15, said the police.
