Bandits get away with till full of cash

THREE masked men, one armed with a handgun, got away with a till full of cash after holding up a bottle shop.

Police say the bandits held up the BWS drive through bottle shop in Sydney Road, Campbellfield, in Melbourne's north, about 9.10pm (AEST) last night.

Two staff members were locking up when they were confronted by three men wearing stocking masks and one pointing a hand gun and demanding money.

One staff member, who was carrying a cash register and about to take it into the hotel, put it on the ground and the bandits ran away with it.

The police helicopter and a Dog Squad unit were called in to help local units in a search for the bandits.

Police say there were no shots fired and no injuries as a result of the robbery.
