Wife decamps with Rs 8.85K before fleeing with lover

NAGPUR: Eight year after their love marriage, wife left husband and decamped with cash and valuables worth Rs 8.85 lakh before fleeing with her lover.

On the complaint lodged by the husband, Jaripatka police has booked wife, Surendra Kaur (30) and her lover, Audumbar Karande for for criminal breach of trust under section 406 IPC and for abetment under section 109 IPC.

According to the police, being relatives, the complainant, 30-year-old, Harinder (name changed) fell in love with Surendra Kaur. Eight years ago, the couple's parents accepted their relationship and assented their marriage.

The complainant's name has been changed in the report as per his request.

The couple has stayed together for eight years and has not been blessed with any child, said police sources. Sources informed that the complainant has not reported any dispute between them and is still clueless about what went wrong in their relationship.

The complainant, who owns a business, mentioned in his complaint that his wife came in contact with Karande, through social networking sites.

Police said that the wife told Harinder about Karande as his internet friend. Harinder knew about his wife's chatting with Karande and even had arguments with her over the topic.

The incident took place on July 20 while Harinder had gone to his work place while his wife was alone at house. When he returned home, he was shocked to find his wife not at home and the valuables worth Rs 7.35 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh cash was missing from the almirah.

A shattered Harinder tried to contact his wife but she has switched off her cell phone, said police sources. Harinder enquired for two days and finally filed a complaint against his wife and her lover.

Karande is a native of Manikbagh, Amrut Nagar in Pune. Jaripatka police is on the lookout for him.
