Thane PCO owner held for possessing over 80,000 SIM cards

A PCO owner has been arrested on charges of possessing over 80,000 mobile SIM cards in the powerloom town of Bhiwandi here, police said today.

Police also believe that the accused Anwar Sadab Ahmad Ansari alias Bablu, 33, was part of a gang that offered overseas calls at cheaper rates using illegal lines.

The incident came to light when acting on a tip-off, police raided Ansari's shop on Thursday night and found nine gunny bags full of SIM cards of different service providers.

Police suspect the involvement of more persons and are taking the help of various mobile service providers to trace them.
