Cops are searching for autorickshaw driver, who has been exploiting a 15-year-old school girl since November after threatening her with dire consequences if she didn't comply
A traumatic tale of sexual exploitation of a minor school-going girl came to light recently and the Hennur police are currently on the lookout for the accused. Naveen, who is an autorickshaw driver in the Hennur area had been sexually exploiting Mary (15) (name changed) for the past eight months by threatening her with dire consequences if she revealed the details to anyone.

The incident came to light when the victim's neighbour noticed the girl moving around with the accused. Upon questioning, she broke down and narrated her ordeal.
Friend or foe?
The neighbour informed the victim's parents, who are construction labourers, and they filed a police complaint. Mary told the police that the accused, who frequented a neighbours house, had befriended her 10-year-old brother and gave him his mobile number, asking that she contact him urgently.
Out of curiosity, Mary called Naveen and was told to meet him near the railway gate in Hennur last November. Soon after reaching the spot, Naveen pounced on her saying he was in love with her and raped her.
Pitiful state
The accused later threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone. He also told her to comply whenever he called. Fearing for her safety and her family, Mary used to oblige and suffered sexual exploitation for over eight months.
Hennur police have registered a rape case against Naveen and are on the look out for him. "He is on the run since he was exposed and we are trying to track him down," the investigating officer said.
