A MAN secretly stalked and harassed his girlfriend online for more than three years, impersonating her and posting sexually explicit photos on adult websites.
Shane Webber's hate campaign against Ruth Jeffery left her so ill she had to take anti-depressant medication.
He sent naked photos of the 22-year-old student to her friends and family and posted explicit images of her on adult websites, some of which she is still trying to get removed.
Webber also contacted people online pretending to be Ms Jeffery and even wrote to her from fake email addresses pretending to be former school friends and bombarded her with sexually-explicit photos and videos.
Ms Jeffery said she wanted Webber jailed as he had "wrecked" the past three and a half years of her life.
"There were times when I phoned up my mum and said, 'I don't want to be alive anymore'. I just didn't want to do anything. I've been worried about going out. I've been worried about sending emails. I've been worried to drive."
Webber, from Nottingham, central England, was caught in June when he used Ms Jeffery's email account to send explicit pictures of her to her entire contact list, including her father. Police traced him through the internet protocol (IP) address of the computer.
Webber and Ms Jeffery met at school when they were 11 and were teenage sweethearts. They split up but reunited in 2007.
Webber had dropped out of school at 14 and Ms Jeffery believes he began his twisted campaign because he was jealous of her life at Loughborough University and wanted to stop her getting a degree.
Webber pleaded guilty at Southampton Magistrates' Court to a charge of causing harassment, alarm or distress and will be sentenced next month.
