It was his favourite pastime- visiting pubs and making foreigner friends. But he never committed a rape crime before.
Officials said during interrogation, the accused confessed he would go to the pubs and discotheque to socialise and make new friends especially with foreign women.
The police said so far no previous involvement of the accused had cropped up during the verification but the process was still on.
"The accused told us that this was the first time he had committed such a crime. However, he did confess that he is a womaniser. His claims are being verified," an official said.
A city court on Sunday morning sent Menttana to 14 days in judicial custody. Meanwhile counseling sessions for the victim was arranged at the police station.
