An MBA and two BBA graduates arrested for cheating bank clients using ‘fake’ ink pens to sign cheques
About the modus operandi, the police said the accused used to provide a 'magic pen' to the clients for filling out cheques for a loan amount. The ink from this 'magic pen' disappears on heating, leaving the cheques blank, which the accused re-filled and encashed.
The magic pen has been recovered from the possession of the accused -- Parmod Kumar Sharma (29), Mandhir Singh (24) and Rajbir Singh (26) -- along with fake ID cards, 10 cellphones, 23 SIM cards, 13 debit cards (including ING Vysya Bank, Canara Bank, Axis Bank and HDFC Bank), four pan cards and four bank deposit slips.
