Two Nigerians arrested for drug peddling

New Delhi, Dec 1 (PTI) Two Nigerian nationals were arrested here on charges of drug peddling, police said today.

Emmanuel Paul and Christian, both Nigerians, were apprehended from Kalkaji when they came there allegedly to courier the contraband to Holland, they said.

The arrest came following inputs that two foreigners were about to come to a courier office in Kalkaji to smuggle drugs concealed in clothes hangers.

"They were carrying Sherwanis with wooden hangers.
After breaking of wooden hangers, six rolls containing 536 grams of the drug was recovered from them," a senior police official said.

Police did not identify the contraband recovered from their possession.

The duo had come to Delhi three months ago and were allegedly involved in drug peddling by concealing them in general use items and sending them to their associates in various countries through couriers.

"They were trying to send the psychotropic substance to their associates in Holland. The investigation is still going on to ascertain the source of supply and their other associates involved peddling drugs," the official said.
