A child
bride has died from internal injuries after spending her wedding night
with her new husband. The girl was 8 years old. Her husband? Forty.
According to a Kuwaiti newspaper, the girl's genitals were torn and she
suffered a uterine rupture, the

reports. Activists are now calling for action against the man and the
girl's family. But the marriage itself was not against the law in Yemen.
The country did pass a law in 2009 setting the minimum age for marriage
at 17, HuffPo reports, but it was later overturned. A quarter of girls
in Yemen are married off before the age of 15, reports
